Awakeri Soccer Club... the Greatest Junior Soccer Club in New Zealand

The 11th grade B semi final was a little one-sided on Saturday, when Adamson's Amcal Pharmacy Awakeri Athletic came up against the well-drilled Opotiki side. The strong wind and rain favoured the Opotiki side in the first half, but as if to order, died away in the second. Despite valiant defence, led by player-of-the-match Myron Rowlands, Athletic went down 7 - 0. The Athletic players played with great spirit, and enjoyed the muddy conditions. Goalkeeper Mark Ernest had a 'mission impossible', but he did pull off some very good saves.
