In the 13th grade, Murphy Brothers Awakeri Avatars had a close loss to Whakatane Phoenix, 2 - 1. The Avatars player of the day was Chris Walker.
Energyscan Awakeri Wildhogs started their 11th grade premier season with a 1 - 1 draw with Te Teko. Lucas Schlepers scored the goal, Kelsey Haddock won player of the day. Abby Patterson and Shane Hope also impressed.
In 11th grade div 1, Janice Hendl Awakeri Hawks had an awesome first game against Whakatane Firebirds. They played a strong defensive game which showed with a 0-0 score. Joshua Keightley had a good game as the keeper and Briar Walker earned player of the day.
In the 9th grade prem, Performance Zone Awakeri Sharks beat Te Teko 2 - 1. Quest Tipping scored the goals and Mikayla Binney-Cox was player of the day. Meanwhile, Awakeri Mosquitoes beat Otakiri 2 - 1 as well, with Keely Forbes player of the day for her defence.
In the 8th gr prem, Da Silva Awakeri Dragons lost to Saints 8 - 1. Ruby Murphy was player of the day, and Matthew Webb scored the goal.
Awakeri Aces won their 8th gr 1st div game against Paroa 2 - 1. Finn Spod scored the goals and Lachlan Butler was player of the day.
Bay Milking Equipment Awakeri T-Rex travelled to Opotiki for their girls leaguie game. It was a beautiful day and the girls played their hearts out. They were all very puffed and the parents and coach were very happy with the girls attitude.
T-Rex won 2-1 with Renske Brabant scoring both goals in her first game of soccer ever. Taryn Forbes was awarded player of the day for her roll as sweeper cutting off attack after attack by the opposition in the first half. The second half saw Tara van Beekhuizen come out of goal and dominate the play with many attacking runs, which led to the 2 goals.
