One of the best contests was in the 11th grade top division where second placed Awakeri Ninjas hosted Ohope Kraken. This closely fought, high scoring game was locked at 4 – 4 with five minutes to go. Ninjas continue to play well as a team and they piled on the pressure to run away to a 7 - 4 win. Mason Nurkka was their player of the day. He gave a whole hearted performance, and saved his team twice by getting back in defence to keep Ohope out.
Also in the 11th grade, Awakeri Panthers were at home to Opotiki Magpies. Panthers had a solid game, but lost 4 - 1. They had lots of opportunities to score but could not quite put them away. Player of the day was Zoe Laurent for her awesome determination on attack and defence. Tejay Robinson was the scorer for Panthers.

It was a well played, concentrated team effort by the Magic, who made sure they didn't make the same mistakes as the last week. All three goals were scored by Ollie Peat and player of the day went to Alex Whiteman for his excellent positional play. This result keeps Magic in second place on the ladder.
