Awakeri Hotcars had an energetic 6th grade game against St Josephs Tigers. Awakeri Hotcars won the game 4 - 0 with player of the day Jamie Julian scoring a hat trick. Elijah Wetting was the Hotcars other goal scorer. Ella Forbes and Charlotte Paulsen also had great first games.

Awakeri Rascals played Thornton Pukekos in the 6th grade today and won 6-0. Jake Laurent, Oliver Young and Katie Mahy scored the goals with Ayla Rowe, Leah Rowe and Kyla Laurence forming a great defence. The player of the day went to Oliver Young who scored a hat-trick. An outstanding result and team effort for their first game of the season.

Also in the 6th grade, Mainstream Engineering Awakeri Hotshots did well in for their first game, working well as a team and having fun on the field. Hotshots beat Whakatane Penguins 7 - 0, the player of the day was Mia Sutton.

The Awakeri Aces played very well in the 7th grade against Allandale Rovers. Thanks to goal keepers Cambell Julian (first half) and Jake Webb (second half), Allandale weren't able to score any goals. Aces were short a few players so Tyler from Allandale kindly helped them out. Awakeri Aces 1, Allandale Rovers 0. The player of the day was Cambell Julian.

Awakeri All Stars drew 1 - 1 against Kawerau Red dragons in the 7th grade. It was a well matched game. Player of the day went to Liam White for his great attacking play and so many attempts at scoring. Kaleb Muggeridge also had an awesome game and scored one goal.

Awakeri Store Comets played a home game against Saints Crusaders in the 8th grade premier division. Saints started very strongly and scored a couple of early goals and added another to lead 3-0 at half-time. In the 2nd half player of the day Kevin Paulsen scored and had a couple of shots saved. Despite several good attempts, Awakeri couldn't close the gap and ended up losing 3-1.

Also in the 8th grade premier, Da Silva Autos Awakeri Aces had a huge improvement on last weeks game but went down 3-1 to Kawerau Knights. Aces were competitive in all areas and an awesome goal was scored by Cambell Forsyth, who had a solo run up the wing from halfway and was their player of the day.

Awakeri Cheetah Girlz played their first game of the season in the 8th grade 1st division. They were slow to start against James St Titans, but finished strongly. Juliet Findlay did well, scoring her first ever goal. Brodie Nathan also played well for her first game of soccer. Titans won 3 - 1.

Awakeri Wildcats lost 3 - 0 to Otakiri in the 9th grade 1st division. Their player of the day was Shayna Penberth, for doing a great job as a defender. Although there was a lot of soccer thinking Wildcats still need to practice some basic soccer skills like passing and kicking.

Also in the 9th grade 1st division, HTL Spreading Awakeri Phoenix had a very good first up game against Ohope. No goals were scored in the first half, but Phoenix eventually went down by 2 - 0. The whole team played exceptionally well, with Marshall McGuire getting player of the day.

In the 11th grade 1st divison, Murphy Brothers Awakeri Mud Dawgs had a good 4 - 3 win against Whakatane Tigers, goal scorers were Hayley Calder, Alex Coventry and Taylor Harte. Player of the day, for her solid defence, went to Keely Forbes.

Get Fresh Awakeri Dragons put in a solid defensive performance in their 11th grade premier game against Saints. Players to do well included Jaspreet Dharmet, who was outstanding in goal, Oliver Thompson, who controlled his backline well and Jacob Davis, who found space well on attack. Isaiah Davidson scored for Dragons with a low drive. Player of the day was the hard working Cody Bragg. Saints won the game 3 - 1.

Renshaw Jewellers Awakeri Sharks made their debut in the 13th grade competition, going down 7 -0 to the St Josephs Stars. Jade Fletcher was awarded player of the day for her all round effort in her first ever game of soccer. Daniel Perkinson worked tirelessly at the front and Josh Keightley had a solid game back in defence.
