President's report 2006
In the 2006 season, Awakeri fielded 10 teams in the EBOP leagues, in the following
grades: 6th (2), 7th (2), 8th, 9th, 11th (2), and 13th (2).
The club is grateful to its sponsors: David da Silva Autos, Total Power Services,
Performance Zone, Agritech Trailers, Galatea Vets, CJ McIndoe Builders, Private
Asset Management, and Proactive Chairs.
In the 2006 season there were many highlights for the Awakeri Soccer Club. These
include:
The successful introduction for graded soccer in the EBOP, with three of our
teams in the premier divisions.
Jayden Haddock scoring six goals in a 13th grade game.
Ben Fretwell scoring all five Awakeri goals in a game his team lost 12 - 5 in
the 11th grade!
Players in the 13th grade B team scoring their first ever goals after years
of playing.
The reps back up and running These players got selected: (8th gr) Nikoli Christensen,
Caleb Carter; (9thgr) Jordan Sutton; (11th gr) Alex Christensen, Caleb Sheather;
(12th gr) Jayden Haddock, Guy Kamphorst; (13th gr) Matthew Reeves, Robert Sonntag,
Vincent Sheather.
I would like to thank the teams' coaches: Dane & Jane Harte,
LJ Du Toit, Rebecca vander Gulik, Jayne Wood, Corey Sanson, Mike Learmond, Paul

Many thanks for the eighth time to Helen Ernest for her excellent work as secretary/treasurer.
Helen has always done her job promptly and efficiently.
