Awakeri Soccer Club.

President's report 2014
In the 2013 season, Awakeri fielded 12 teams in the EBOP leagues, in the following grades: 6th (3), 7th (2), 8th (2), 9th (1), 11th (3) and 13th (1). Again, we had two girls only teams playing.
The season was run by the Waikato-BOP Federation. While this went well for the most part, the departure of Mike Ward mid-season and the short tenure of replacement Becca Todd left us with a rather chaotic feel. Both did well, but they have left a big gap.

The club is grateful to its sponsors: Kiwi Waste, HTL Spreading, Barringtons Motor Lodge, Private Asset Management, Richard Mahy Contracting and Insitu Heritage.

In the 2013 season there were many highlights for the Awakeri Soccer Club. These include:
11th grade Wild Cats winning the 11th grade 1st division.
8th grade Warriors having an unbeaten season.
Awakeri Lightning winning a free breakfast and team talk from 1XX, and Karen Hanlen.
Emily Julian, Kevin Paulsen, Kaia Skipps, Jamie Julian, Taryn Forbes, Emily Robbie, Oliver Forsyth, Blake Hermansen, Jacob Davis, Korben Wilson all scoring hat tricks or better in games.
One week 9 of the players of the day were girls!
Emily, Taryn and Linette all selected in the Weir Rosebowl team for a Cambridge tournament.
Kaia Skipps scoring 8 goals in a game in the 8th grade.
The great battle between Lightning and Wild Cats in atrocious weather that ended in a 2 – 2 draw.
Awakeri kids going to watch the All Whites v Phoenix game in Rotorua.
Sarah Sheaff playing half a game in goal then getting a 2nd half hat trick to win the game.
The football international between Awakeri and Singapore team Wellington was convincingly won by Awakeri..
